SoundEx has different insulation for different applications.

SOUND AND THERMAL INSULATION

The following Insulation is both Sound and Thermal insulation recommended for aircraft side walls and roofs. These have three layers to insulate: 1) Closed cell rubber protective layer; 2) Acoustic foam core and 3) Foil closest to interior to help sound repel back into open acoustic foam.

BLACK MAT WITH FOIL

This is a black rubber closed cell foam with 3mil foil. Closed cell so no liquids, water, fuel or oil can penetrate.

FIREWALL INSULATION

Firewall insulation is double sided foil with 3 mil on one side and 6 mil on the other. the 6 mil goes inside the cabin against the firewall, while the 3 mil faces the cabin. Between the foils is a closed cell black mat so no liquids can penetrate.

BLACK MAT FOR UNDER CARPET

SoundEx Black Mat is a closed cell so no liquids can penetrate. This black mat is to be placed under the carpet and if you use adhesive ONLY GLUE TO CARPET.
